DIXON, California. —
A Sacramento man was arrested after two people were stabbed Friday night in a corn maze at Cool Patch Pumpkins in Dixon, according to the Solano County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to the popular fall attraction around 9:15 p.m. after an altercation was reported in the maze, the sheriff’s office said.
A 19-year-old woman from Dixon and a 20-year-old man from Vallejo were taken to the hospital. Authorities have not released information about their conditions.
Officers arrested a 28-year-old Sacramento man and recovered a weapon at the scene, according to the sheriff’s office. Authorities have not released the suspect’s name or said what may have led to the violence.
“There was an altercation between some people yesterday in the corn maze,” said Seth Cooley, whose family runs Cool Patch Pumpkins. “The police were called. They responded very quickly.”
The pumpkin patch reopened Saturday, with families returning to the field and entering the corn maze. Cooley described the stabbing as an isolated incident and said the farm prioritizes visitor safety.
“We are a family-oriented pumpkin patch,” Cooley said. “It always has been.”
Security cameras are visible around the property and a liability notice is posted at the entrance.

No liability signs posted at the entrance.

Cooley confirmed security personnel were on site but declined to provide details about the farm’s security measures.
“I’m not going to go into detail right now,” Cooley said. “I don’t think it’s relevant to what happened.”
Natalie Murphy and Emily Gove came from San Francisco for a fall outing and said they hadn’t heard about the stabbings until they arrived. Both said they felt safe during their visit.
“All joking aside, we felt completely safe and nothing stood out,” Gove said.
“It really feels like a family place,” Murphy said.
The women said the violence was hard to imagine at a family attraction and expressed concern for the victims.
“I hope everyone is OK and that maybe safety measures will be taken and people will feel comfortable coming here,” Gove said.
Cooley said the pumpkin patch will continue to welcome visitors.
“This is an isolated incident,” he said. “It’s a great day. We hope to see you here. We’re not going to let an incident involving one individual ruin a great day for thousands of people.”
The investigation remains active, according to the sheriff’s office. Cool Patch Pumpkins remains open.
The corn maze is widely known to be one of the largest in the world.
