TURLOCK, Calif. —
A 14-year-old boy was killed Saturday in a one-vehicle crash in Turlock while riding an electric motorcycle, officials said.
The Turlock Police Department said officers responded to the crash at Tokay Avenue and Old Vineyard Road around 5:30 p.m. The boy was not breathing and life-saving measures were attempted, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say the driver of the vehicle involved in the crash remained at the scene. Neither drugs nor alcohol are believed to be a factor in the accident.
Family members identified the KCRA 3 victim as Jameson Hendrix.
A GoFundMe describes the teenager as a “free-spirited, polite, big-hearted young man.”
The teen was a student at Turlock High School, the Turlock Unified School District confirmed.
A district official told KCRA 3 that counseling services will be made available to students and staff. The district said Jessica’s home and a chaplain from the Turlock Police Department will also provide support.
The accident remains under investigation. Roads were closed for several hours due to the accident.
Editor’s note: Turlock police previously identified the boy as 15 years old.
