A 15-year-old boy was shot and killed after an argument at a gas station in Philadelphia’s Port Richmond neighborhood on Halloween night.
The shooting occurred around 6:50 p.m. at a Sunoco gas station at the intersection of Richmond Street and Castor Avenue.
The teen was with a group of other teens when he got into an argument with a 40-year-old man, Philadelphia police Detective DF Pace said.
At one point, the 40-year-old man pulled out a gun and shot the teen once in the back. The teen then ran down Richmond Street and collapsed.
The teen’s friends and two good Samaritans who were nearby attempted to help, but the teen was pronounced dead at the hospital at 7:06 p.m.
The unidentified 40-year-old man was arrested shortly after the shooting and a weapon was recovered, according to Pace.
