Trump’s in-person rallies in Kansas and Iowa canceled, but multi-state tele-rally blitz expected
President Donald Trump’s plans to rally in Kansas and Iowa have been canceled, but he is expected to participate in tele-rallies as he continues working to give Republicans a boost in the midterms.
“As Election Day approaches, the Republican Party is maximizing opportunities for President Donald J. Trump to speak to voters across the country. With Republicans in a strong position in Kansas and Iowa, previously planned in-person rallies in those states will no longer take place as planned,” the Republican National Committee noted in a press release.
“President Trump is expected to participate in a large number of tele-rallies, which can reach more voters in the limited time remaining before polls close,” the RNC noted. “As noted, the President will hold tele-rallies in nearly 20 states, including Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Michigan, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas and Virginia. Additional events may be announced.”
Asked Thursday why he wasn’t traveling to Kansas, the president, likely referring to Republican Sen. Roger Marshall, said: “Because I think he’s fine. We’re going to have a tele-rally for him instead.”
Trump criticized another reporter who asked him if canceled plans to visit Kansas had anything to do with the president being tired of traveling.
Trump fired back, telling the reporter he was “sick” for asking that question and asking what media outlet it was.
The journalist identified himself as Reuters.
“You’re a sick guy,” Trump said, later noting that he felt “perfect.”
“You’re disgusting. Get in shape. You look like hell,” Trump told the reporter before walking away.
