HOUMA, La. (WVUE) – The Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office has named a person of interest in a series of stabbings in the Ashland Drive area of Houma that left four people dead, the Sheriff’s Office said.
The Sheriff’s Office identified the person of interest as Kaegan Jude Solet, 47, of Houma.
Deputies first went to the 200 block of Ashland Drive, where they found a child with stab wounds, the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office said.
The child was flown by Acadian Ambulance Service Air Med to a hospital outside the area and remains in critical condition, the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office said.
As deputies kept investigating, they found several dead victims inside nearby homes. At least four people have died.
The investigation is still active as detectives continue gathering evidence.
The Sheriff’s Office asked anyone who knows where Solet is to call Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office detectives at (985) 876-2500.
People can also share information anonymously through Crime Stoppers Bayou Region by calling 1-800-743-7433, going to CrimeStoppersBR.org, or using the Bayou Tips app, the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office said. Tipsters could get a reward of up to $1,000 if the information leads to an arrest.
