The Seattle Seahawks need to come off the canvas after being floored by the San Francisco 49ers at Lumen Field on Sunday. They won’t have it easy against a Denver Broncos team that boasts a big home field advantage and a defensive line that can punish Seattle’s struggling offensive line. Denver will suffer in the secondary, with Patrick Surtain II and Talanoa Hufanga both out due to injury, so if there’s ever an opportunity for Sam Darnold to break out of his funk, it’s against a banged-up secondary and a defense with questionable linebackers in coverage.
Seattle’s defense played very well, although it didn’t reach the level it set last year, when it was the best in the NFL. The Seahawks have been excellent at preventing teams from entering the red zone (outside of turnovers that set up instant RZ possessions), but red zone drives consistently end in touchdowns. Can the Seahawks defense piss off Bo Nix as much as it did in his very first game? Can the run defense stop a lukewarm Broncos rushing attack?
Both teams are 3-2 and there is a feeling of need to win on both sides. Join us in our Thursday night gaming chat! I’m amazed that we received over 7,500 comments for the 49ers game, many of which I know came through the new SB Nation app (available in the US and Canada). We are a vibrant and active community, but the app has done wonders to take it to the next level. Check out a quick test of what a game chat looks like with live mode enabled!
Prime Video has coverage at 5:15 p.m. PT, but you can also watch on local affiliates FOX 13 in Seattle and Denver7 ABC in uh… Denver.
