Sean McVay: The trajectory of the Rams’ blocked FG was ‘far’

The Los Angeles Rams suffered their third loss of the season by losing to the Buffalo Bills in overtime on Monday night. The narrative of the game centered on kicker Harrison Mevis’ two missed kicks. His first field goal attempt was a total failure of 50 yards in regulation. His second kick was blocked by Bills outside linebacker Greg Rousseau in overtime.

However, protection is not entirely responsible for the blocking. The flight of the ball didn’t look sharp, coming out low and to the left.

During his radio interview with ESPN Los Angeles, head coach Sean McVay was asked about the play and whether the miss was poor protection or a bad kick.
