DOJ Sues California, Demands It Delete Voter Rolls of Alleged Non-Citizens

The Justice Department sued California Thursday, demanding that the state act on a list of 20,000 people the federal government says may be noncitizens but yet registered to vote just two days after presenting the list to election officials.

The lawsuit is the federal government’s latest attempt to assert control over state voter rolls ahead of the midterm elections, which are less than three weeks away.
