Who's on top of SW FL Super 10 football rankings entering Week 5?

Week 4 of the high school football season saw fewer games impacted by weather than Week 3 as nearly all games proceeded as scheduled this past week. The top of this week’s Southwest Florida Super 10 rankings remains unchanged, but a few teams in the middle picked up key victories and moved themselves up the poll.

Each week we will rank the top 10 football teams from our coverage area, including Collier and Lee counties, plus LaBelle. The power rankings are based on record, strength of schedule, and head-to-head matchups for the area’s 30-plus teams.

Here are The News-Press/Naples Daily News Power Rankings entering Week 5 of the 2026 regular season. Be sure to look online each week during the season to see our updated rankings.

Games played through Monday, Sept. 14.

1. South Fort Myers (3-0)

Last week: 1 (Bye Week)

Analysis: The bye week was warmly welcomed by the Wolfpack, entering the break carrying injuries throughout the roster, including junior quarterback Jaydon Henderson. Junior quarterback James Kelly proved himself off the bench against Gulf Coast in Week 3, taking over for Henderson in the second half and securing the victory.

2. Cape Coral (2-1)

Last week: 2

Analysis: The Seahawks shut out East Lee last week with another strong, all-around performance. Senior quarterback Derek Hooker completed 10 of 16 passes for 173 yards and scored three touchdowns in the victory.

3. Bishop Verot (2-1)

Last week: 3

Analysis: The Vikings continued to cook on their home field in Week 4, earning their second straight shutdown victory, this time defeating Williston 59-0. Senior Ayden Gonzalez shined once more for the hosts, scoring four touchdowns and accumulating 157 of 361 offensive yards, including a game-high 147 receiving yards.

4. Napoli (2-2)

Last week: 5

Analysis: The Golden Eagles kept it rolling in Week 4 with a convincing 54-7 win over Aubrey Rogers. Naples ran for nearly 400 yards against the Patriots, led by junior back Jevan Raphael with 195 rushing yards and three touchdowns on just seven carries.

5. Immokalee (3-1)

Last week: 6

Analysis: In a battle between two unbeatens, Immokalee suffered a narrow defeat to Charlotte in Week 4. The Indians were in front in the fourth quarter, but couldn’t hold on down the stretch as the Tarpons handed Immokalee a tough district loss.

6. St. John Neumann (3-1)

Last week: 8

Analysis: Freshman quarterback Maxton Grynka’s stellar Week 4 performance lifted the Celtics past Lemon Bay and has them climbing the Southwest Super 10 rankings as well. The backup stepped in for senior quarterback Carter Quinn and didn’t miss a beat, throwing for nearly 300 yards and six touchdowns.

7. Riverdale (2-2)

Last week: 7

Analysis: The Raiders picked up a comfortable win over North Fort Myers in Week 4. Junior quarterback Terrance Taylor threw for 265 yards and four touchdowns in the district victory, finding freshman wide receiver Johnny Colston thrice in the end zone.

8. Dunbar (2-2)

Last week: 4

Analysis: The Tigers did not impress in Week 4 against Port Charlotte, failing to recover from a 28-point deficit in the opening quarter against the Pirates. Dunbar turned the ball over three times against Port Charlotte, each of which resulted in a touchdown for the Pirates.

9. First Baptist (4-0)

Last week: 10

Analysis: The Lions defense and special teams came up big in their 35-0 win over SFCA in Week 4, flipping two turnovers and a blocked punt into points. First Baptist’s offense can produce on the ground and in the air, but defensive performances like this are necessary when facing tougher opposition.

10. Gulf Coast (2-2)

Last week: 15

Analysis: The Sharks won a wild district shootout against Estero, led by a whopping six rushing touchdowns and a school-record 411 yards on 40 attempts by Gio Marenco. Gulf Coast’s defense didn’t have too many answers for the Wildcats, but Torren Crane tipped a pass in the end zone on the last play to seal the victory.
