Elon Musk’s ex says she’s paying the price for speaking publicly about their child.
Ashley St. Clair reveals in Alex Gibney’s new documentary, Muskthat after welcoming her son Romulus with the Tesla founder in September 2024, she was offered a lump sum of $15 million plus $100,000 per month in child support in exchange for her silence.
When she refused, Musk reduced the monthly payment to $40,000 – which he then reduced to $20,000 in February 2025 after St. Clair publicly revealed that she had given birth to the controversial billionaire’s 13th child.

The 28-year-old former conservative influencer called Musk “nice” until their son was born. “It was almost like he only showed a certain side of himself after I had our baby,” she says in the new documentary.
St. Clair sued Musk for full custody of Romulus, a battle that continues.
Musk has since become a father for the 14th time with the birth of a son named Seldon Lycurgus, his fourth child with chief technology officer Shivon Zilis.
According to St. Clair, there could be even more. In the new documentary, she claims to have been contacted by several other women “to tell them that Elon was chatting” and “offering children (with him).”
“There was a woman in Japan who just wanted to, basically, donate sperm, which he obliged,” St. Clair reveals. “It’s like a Gatling gun of cum in her DMs.”
The subject of children came up early in their romance, which began in 2023 when Musk slid into St. Clair’s DMs on X, shortly after buying Twitter for $44 billion and renaming it.
“When Elon started interacting with me on Twitter, I was a conservative influencer,” said St. Clair, who also has a son from a previous relationship. Musk. “He responded to my messages frequently. One day he responded to one of my Mother’s Day messages (and said) that I should have more children.”
Musk described himself as a “good father,” she said, and gave the impression that he had a “friendly” relationship with the three mothers of his children, including his first wife Justin Wilson, Zillis and singer Grimes.
“He always said, ‘We should have one kid. You should have so many more kids. You should have 10 kids,'” St. Clair recalled. “Eventually I was like, ‘Well, what does this look like?'”

At the Venice Film Festival in September, St. Clair promoted Musk with Gibney and explained why she chose to take part in a documentary that her ex called a “hit piece.”
“I think Alex talked about it a little bit, about the unreality of Elon,” she said. “He usually has complicated relationships, but his most complicated relationship is with the truth. And so I think, more importantly, I want to set an example for my children that you should never take to being materially comfortable telling the truth.”
