If you’ve seen any tweets from Elizabeth Holmes over the past year, you’ve probably been a little surprised. Nothing about her public persona suggested she would be so brash, responding to people with tweets like “f*ck off.”
But the new documentary You can see everythingco-directed by Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim, helps explain what’s going on. And it makes even more sense that Holmes’ X account is abrasive and signals that she may be a supporter of President Donald Trump.
This isn’t really a spoiler, but if you really don’t want to know anything about the movie before seeing it, abandon ship now.
The reason is that Holmes’ account has been run by her husband Billy Evans since his incarceration in May 2023. Evans and Holmes met in 2017 and he is clearly a conniving asshole. Going into more detail would probably spoil the movie and it’s worth watching this movie without knowing much about it. But this guy is a real asshole.
If you see the film in theaters (and I can’t recommend it enough), some of the most memorable moments will be crowd gasps and laughter surrounding Evans’ actions. He doesn’t seem like a good person. But it all clicked for me when he mentions in the film that he now manages his X account.
The Holmes account tweeted positively about Charlie Kirk and Donald Trump, quoting the president on Twitter on September 25 with the words “we win.” Another attacks Democratic congressman Greg Casar and quotes Ronald Reagan’s statement: “The nine most terrifying words in the English language are: I am from the government and I am here to help. »

And while it’s entirely possible that Holmes herself shares these beliefs, we really can’t tell. Evans says some of the tweets are from his emails sent from prison, but viewers are left with the impression that most of them are actually him.
This recent tweet in particular seems very different after learning that it’s probably just Evans.

Evans was interviewed on Thursday for the All-In podcast, where he said he hadn’t seen the film yet, but admitted it might be “the stupidest thing I’ve ever done.”

It’s possible, Billy. But the film nonetheless remains one of the best of the decade, if not the greatest film of all time. I don’t say that lightly. This film was an experience I won’t soon forget. And it seems like a lot of other people agree with me.
The film currently has a 9.3 rating on IMDb, tied with The Shawshank Redemptionwhich is the highest rated film on the platform. Is it better than Shawshank? It’s difficult to say since on the one hand, they are very different genres of films. But on the other hand, yes, You can see everything is about 100 times better than Shawshank and you should go to the theater right away if you haven’t seen it yet.
