Oregon set to start quarterback Brock Thomas against Nebraska

Oregon is ready to start quarterback Thomas Thomas against Nebraska Saturday evening, sources tell On3. The Ducks have started Dylan Raiola last week against UCLA, which struggled before being benched in favor of Thomas.

Starting quarterback Dante Moore came out of U.S.C. game on September 26 with a concussion and is still recovering. Moore complied with concussion protocol and returned to the practice field. Head coach Dan Lanning said Moore is back in practice, throwing and pads.

Thomas came off the bench and finished 11 of 15 for 156 yards and a touchdown, rallying the Ducks to within two points of UCLA. Raiola was 6 of 19 starting, throwing for just 43 yards and two interceptions. He also lost a fumble in the loss and will not start Saturday against his former team.

Moore entered the season widely considered one of the top prospects in the 2027 NFL Draft. He turned down the chance to enter the NFL Draft after last season, when some projected him as a first-round pick, to return to Eugene. The exact timeline for Moore’s return is unclear.

“There are going to be changes, differences in how we operate and what we do, and there already is, in how we operated this week,” the Oregon head coach said. Dan Lanning said about Oregon’s offense earlier this week. “But as far as revealing how we’re going to do that, what things will look like, I’m not going to share that with (the media).”

Raiola threw for 289 yards and two touchdowns off the bench against USC when Moore was injured, but didn’t look comfortable in Saturday’s loss to UCLA. Oregon is currently 3-2 with losses to Oklahoma State and UCLA.

Nebraska at Oregon kicks off at 11 p.m. ET Saturday night on FOX.
