Retired Republican Representative from Nevada. Marc Amodei said he would not vote for the Trump-backed Republican candidate vying to replace him, amid a series of stolen valor and other accusations — and warned that the president’s once-safe Republican seat Donald Trump won by 14 points risks turning blue on election day.
Amodei said in an interview Saturday that he would “absolutely not” vote for a businessman David Flippo in Nevada’s 2nd district. “I think the headquarters is in danger,” he added, citing a series of valuable and financial theft allegations against Flippo.
“You say, well, the president supported him” Amodei added. “It’s like, well, whoever was advising the president and saying, ‘Hey, this would be a good place for you to go ahead and give your opinion,’ gave him horrible advice. The vetting process – quote unquote – must have been almost non-existent.”
Amodei specifically cited a series of allegations against Flippo as disqualifying, because it would seem lie about his military service and also failure to file financial information on time.
