The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office determined this week that former AEW and WWE star Pac died last month from bronchial asthma.
A spokesperson for the Cook County medical examiner’s office in Chicago shared the findings Friday with Edward Lewis of California Post.
Pac, whose real name is Benjamin Satterley, was found unconscious in a rental car in the parking lot of a restaurant in Des Plaines, Illinois, on September 27, and was later pronounced dead.
The Cook County medical examiner’s office ruled Pac’s death natural.
A day earlier, Pac wrestled on AEW’s All Out card, which took place at the Now Arena in Hoffman Estates, Illinois.
In the opening match of the show, Pac challenged Andrade El Idolo for the national championship. Andrade triumphed in what was a highly rated fight.
Hailing from Newcastle upon Tyne, England, Pac was with AEW since its inception in 2019, and he went on to win the All-Atlantic Championship once and the World Trios Championships twice.
Before joining AEW, Pac wrestled under the names Neville and Adrian Neville in WWE from 2012 to 2018.
As part of the NXT roster, Pac was an NXT Champion and a two-time NXT Tag Team Champion, and he later held the WWE Cruiserweight Championship twice.
