Projected programming: October 18 in Calgary

CALGARY, AB. – The Carolina Hurricanes have a game-time decision tonight as they take on the Calgary Flames.

Rod Brind’Amour didn’t say who when he shared the news with reporters before the game at Scotiabank Saddledome. If necessary, the Canes have Nicolas Deslauriers And Juuso Välimäki as healthy extras during the trip.

Due to the number of injuries already existing in the team, Bradley Nadeau And Felix Unger Sörum both made their season debuts yesterday and received praise from the head coach for their efforts.

“When you can have those kinds of quality players ready to step in, it helps,” Brind’Amour said. “It makes a huge difference. I think both guys performed really well. Nadeau took Hallsy’s place and did an admirable job with this group.”

Speaking of currently injured players, Seth Jarvis is “getting closer” to his return, but tonight won’t be the night.

“It’s happening. He’s got a while to go, and he’s getting close. Then we can talk about clearing him,” Brind’Amour continued. “He’s around the corner.”

Behind the cast of skaters, Brandon Bussi should start after Pyotr Kochetkov got the green light yesterday in Winnipeg. Bussi has wins against Montreal and Chicago in his last two outings, making a total of 40 saves.

See if the Canes can earn their eighth straight victory at 8 p.m. ET on Hurricanes Hockey Network.
