Commanders receiver Terry McLaurin had to be carried off the field with a jet of air on his left knee Monday night and the image did little to raise hopes of a quick return to the field this season.
Head coach Dan Quinn confirmed the team feared a “significant” injury after the game and that McLaurin would undergo tests on Tuesday to determine how serious it was. Those tests are pending, but NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport reports the team is preparing to learn that McLaurin will be missed the rest of the season.
McLaurin missed Week 4 with a hamstring injury and has 15 catches for 230 yards and a touchdown this season.
McLaurin has two years remaining on his contract and is expected to have a $34 million cap hit in 2027, but there is no guaranteed money on the deal if the Commanders choose to go in a different direction.
