The release in stores of the new Warhammer Tone Pro Range is only a few days away! We’ll spend the next few days reviewing the main features of the new paints, starting with System 1-5.

The range includes 30 colors, with five tones each, giving you 150 new paints to add to your painting toolbox. The tones of each color are numbered 1 to 5, where 1 is the darkest and 5 is the lightest, and you have a very good shift in value between each tone. In most colors, 3 is the mid tone, giving you two paints to highlight and two paints to shade.

This doesn’t mean you have to use 3 as your base color though. If you want to imitate the way the Eavy Metal team paints Ultramarines, you should start with Ultramar 2, shade with 1 and highlight with 3, 4 and 5.
The 1-5 system makes it easy to navigate between colors, but you can also mix and match colors. For example, Ultramar Blue could work with Blue Gorkshroom and Craventhrone Cloak to open up even more options.

The Warhammer Tone Pro range will be available in stores from Saturday. Head to your local store to get your hands on these:
