Former Disney child star Erik Von Detten is being sued for alleged elder abuse and fraud.
An elderly couple – Norman Greenberg, 97, and Sheila Greenberg, 85 – have filed a lawsuit against the “Princess Diaries” star and Rosland Capital, according to TMZ.
The two men claimed they suffered $900,000 in damages while working with the 44-year-old actor and the company that bought and sold precious metals.
Norman and Sheila alleged that the organization, which went bankrupt within months of filing the lawsuit, is trying to exploit the financial fears of elderly citizens by selling them on the stability of gold.
The Greenbergs want to recoup their losses and receive additional punitive damages, according to documents obtained by the outlet on Tuesday.
They wrote in their filing that they first contacted Rosland Capital in 2020 after seeing an advertisement.
Von Detten, in subsequent phone calls with the duo, told them he had special knowledge of gold and could help them with the $2 million in their retirement accounts.
Norman and Sheila spent around $1 million on two Lady Liberty gold coins, and then Von Detten spent another $1 million on other coins, all of which were reportedly stored in a warehouse.
The couple now claims to have spent approximately $2.1 million on pieces that were only worth $1.3 million.
Von Detten’s rep did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
He started working with Rosland Capital in 2018.
That same year, Von Detten married his wife, Angela, a real estate agent with whom he shares daughter Claire, 7, and sons Thomas, 5, and Nicholas, 3.
Von Detten, notably, hasn’t acted consistently from the start – but took on his first role in over a decade in 2024 for the Lifetime movie “My Acting Coach Nightmare.”
The former soap opera star’s acting career began in 1992, when he had 55 episodes of “Days of Our Lives.”
Three years later, he played Sid Phillips in “Toy Story” – and later starred in the Disney Channel original movie “Brink!” in 1998.
He played Clu Bell on the Disney Channel series “So Weird” between 1991 and 2001, the same year he appeared on “The Princess Diaries” as Josh Bryant.
At the time, he also voiced Erwin Lawson in the series “Recess,” which ran from 1997 to 2001 and included four direct-to-video films.
