Paris St-Germain: Khvicha Kvaratskhelia will undergo surgery for a torn ACL

Paris St-Germain winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia will undergo knee surgery after rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) during his team’s training. 4-2 victory over Barcelona Tuesday.

Kvaratskhelia was injured during a challenge with Xavi Espart and was unable to put weight on his right leg as he was substituted in the 59th minute of the Champions League tie.

PSG has not set a timetable for its return to action.

Kvaratskhelia, 25, helped PSG win back-to-back Champions League titles after moving to the French capital from Naples in January 2025.

The Georgian international has played 11 times for PSG this season.

The club also confirmed that Ousmane Dembélé and Marquinhos would be out for “a few weeks”. Dembele limped off due to a left thigh injury while Marquinhos injured his right thigh.

PSG and Barcelona were tied at 2-2 heading into the final 10 minutes at the Parc des Princes before the hosts scored twice late on to maintain their winning start to their Champions League defense. They are at the top of the standings with three wins in three matches.
