The Tennessee Titans revealed Tuesday that they have released defensive tackle Jordan Elliott following an undisclosed incident at the team facility.
The incident occurred last Thursday, three days before the Titans earned their first victory of the season, according to a statement from the organization.
“After our review of the incident, we have made the decision to release Elliott from our roster,” the statement read, via Titans team reporter Jim Wyatt.
“We will have no further comment on this matter.”
Details of the incident have not yet been reported. But the decision to part ways with Elliott was universally accepted, according to a report from ESPN, which also points out that the NFL is aware of the situation.
Before practice last Friday, Titans head coach Robert Saleh told reporters that Elliott would not be available to participate that day because he was “taking care of personal matters,” according to ESPN. He would not have traveled with the team to Indianapolis on Saturday.
Elliott was among the inactive players announced by the Titans before their 26-20 triumph over the Colts.
