It looks like an ‘open season’ for Man Utdpublished at 10:33 p.m. BST
FT: Como 4-1 Manchester United
Matt Upson
Former Arsenal defender on BBC Radio 5 Live
Which teams are not in better form than Manchester United? For me, Manchester United are getting results because they have spent a lot of money and they have players who can do things, and they will win some football matches, but at the moment it’s just the open season, how it feels at the club.
This is a very difficult thing to deal with, can you succeed on the pitch when this happens? Probably not, I don’t think it’s possible. I wasn’t surprised to see that they really struggled against a team that is the complete opposite of where they are.
(Como are) together, fresh, new, have something to prove and are seizing their opportunity as a group.
There is definitely something wrong, and criticizing not the manager directly, but the tactic, which lands at his feet, is so damaging.
