The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said it has killed the last Hamas member accused of the kidnapping and murder of a 22-year-old German Israeli woman during the deadly attack in Israel on October 7, 2023.
The IDF on Tuesday identified the man as Tamer Mohammad Ibrahim Al-Zabaq, describing him as “a terrorist from Hamas’ military wing who infiltrated Israel” and participated in the kidnapping and murder of Shani Louk.
“The terrorist was eliminated in order to eliminate the threat he posed,” the IDF wrote on X.
Al-Zabaq has recently worked to plan attacks against Israeli civilians and troops, according to the IDF. The Israeli army also accused him of rebuilding Hamas’ military capabilities in violation of the ceasefire.
Al-Zabaq, according to the IDF, was the last member of a group of five people linked to Louk’s death who remained at large. They identified the other four as the following men:
- Mustafa Shaheen – reportedly killed in an Israeli airstrike on October 10, 2023
- Basel Cheleh – reportedly killed on December 6, 2023
- Attiya Daour – reportedly killed on August 20, 2025
- Mustafa Ala Khatib – reportedly apprehended by Israeli security forces and detained

Louk was attending the Nova music festival near the Gaza border when Hamas-led militants launched the attack. The images of his half-naked body being paraded on the bed of a truck through Gaza have become among the most recognizable of the 2023 assault.
In late October that year, Israeli authorities said Louk was among nearly 1,200 people killed in the Hamas-led massacre. Israeli forces then collected his remains from Gaza in May 2024 and returned them to Israel for burial.
Israel has repeatedly accused Hamas of violating the truce and rebuilding its armed infrastructure. Hamas has accused Israel of violating the agreements through ongoing military operations.
