Reba McEntire’s son, Shelby Steven McEntire Blackstock, announced on Wednesday (October 21) that he and his wife, Marissa, welcomed their first baby together.

Shelby Steven McEntire Blackstock and his wife, Marissa, announced that they welcomed their first baby together in a series of Instagram Stories posts on Wednesday, October 21.
“After everything it took to get here, we can finally call each other mom and dad,” Blackstock wrote alongside a photo of him and Marissa.

“We have taken these first weeks just for ourselves and there is nowhere else we would rather be,” the statement continued.
The announcement was followed by a photo of the proud dad holding his son to his bare chest.

He wrote his son’s name – Shelby Archer McEntire Blackstock – on the photo.
The adorable photo of the newborn wrapped in a colorful blanket and hat was followed by a video of the little one resting.
“He had a rough first week, but at least he had his eyes down,” his father wrote of the video.
Marissa also shared the announcement and posted a photo of herself appearing to breastfeed her baby. She wrote that his nickname is “Archie.”

Archie’s parents announced in April that they were expecting their first baby together. They shared the happy news in a joint Instagram post featuring cute photos from Walt Disney World.
“Oh, boy! We are beyond excited to FINALLY announce that our little man is arriving this October,” the announcement read. “See you soon, buddy! Mom + Dad love you! 🤟🏼.”

Marissa announced on Instagram in January that she was starting her second round of IVF treatments. The couple married in 2022.
This is McEntire’s first biological grandchild. The country music legend, married to Shelby’s father, Narvel Blackstock from 1989 to 2015, is the former stepmother of Brandon Blackstock, the ex-husband of Kelly Clarkson, who died in August 2025.
