Another wedding from the big “Good Morning America” cheating scandal of 2022 is imminent. This time, it’s the exes of former ABC journalists, TJ Holmes and Amy Robach, who will get married.
Immigration lawyer Marilee Fiebig and actor Andrew Shue, ex-partners of Holmes and Robach respectively, are engaged. Shue broke the news to People, telling the outlet that he and Fiebig were “very grateful and hopeful.”
News of the engagement comes a month after Robach and Holmes married in a private ceremony in Arkansas in September, and four years after the reporters’ romance rocked the media. In December 2022, several media outlets alleged that the since-fired co-anchors of “GMA3: What You Need to Know” were involved in a months-long relationship while still married to their respective partners. Holmes and Robach disputed this claim in 2023, noting on their podcast that they were both in the process of divorcing their exes.
Reports on the alleged affair and images published by the Daily Mail began circulating at the end of November 2022, plunging journalists and their loved ones into a media frenzy. Robach and Holmes were fired from their ABC News publications in January 2023. Robach and Holmes said the fallout also took a toll on their mental health.
Robach and Holmes both finalized their divorce in 2023. Reports of Fiebig and Shue’s relationship also surfaced in 2023, with an anonymous source telling Page Six at the time that Fiebig, who shares a daughter with Holmes, had become involved with Schue over the scandal.
“You don’t know how to meet the right person,” Shue told People. “It just happened.”
He also told the outlet that he felt it was “bad luck” that the events of 2022 led him to Fiebig, adding that they shared “ourselves in a time when both of us needed a friend.”
