Tropical Storm “Vance” Appears and Here Are Veep Jokes

The name “Vance” caused a stir Wednesday in more ways than one.

Then the National Hurricane Center announced the name of a new tropical storm in the Eastern Pacific: Vance.

The Associated Press said Vance — the storm, not the vice president — was located about 535 miles (835 kilometers) south of Acapulco, Mexico, and posed no landfall risk.

However, Accuweather.com predicted that Storm Vance could become a Category 3 storm and bring heavy rain, rough surf and gusty winds to Mexico’s Pacific coast, even if it doesn’t make landfall.

HuffPost reached out to Vance – the vice president, not the storm – for comment, but no one immediately responded.
