How to play Powerball
Powerball tickets cost $2 per game and are sold in 45 states, Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Depending on local laws, players may also have the option to purchase tickets online.
To play, select five white ball numbers from 1 to 69 and one red Powerball number from 1 to 26. Players can also add Power Play for an additional $1 to increase non-jackpot prizes by 2X, 3X, 4X, 5X or 10X.
Would you rather leave it to chance? Choose a quick selection and let the computer generate your numbers.
To win the jackpot, a ticket must match all five white balls and the red Powerball. If no one wins, the jackpot rolls and increases.
Do you have to be a US citizen or resident to play Powerball?
You do not need to be a US citizen or resident to purchase a Powerball ticket.
Anyone meeting the legal age requirement wherever the ticket is purchased, generally 18 years of age or older, can play by visiting a participating jurisdiction. Winners who live outside of the United States may claim prizes, although taxes may apply.
