James Bond screen tests this weekend: Callum Turner and Jack Lowden in mix

Tomorrow never dies. But for all but one actor, the dream of being the next James Bond will likely die this week.

And this is due to — finally! — a very select group of actors appearing in front of the cameras to test out the role of British Agent 007.

According to multiple sources, Callum Turner, who recently starred in the romantic comedy One night onlyAnd Slow horses Actor Jack Lowden is reportedly taking part in the screen tests, which will take place in London this weekend. They could start as early as Friday, according to two sources.

It’s unclear who else might test. Sources said at least three actors were part of the action, but another source said up to five of them might don the tuxedo to see how it fits. Jack O’Connell (Sinners) was initially rumored to be included in the mix, but that is apparently not the case, according to sources. And despite some reports, Euphoria And Frankenstein star Jacob Elordi doesn’t test.

Amazon had no comment and highlighted its previous statement, which read: “The search for the next James Bond is ongoing. While we do not intend to comment on specific details during the casting process, we are excited to share more news with 007 fans when the time is right.”

The moment seems near.

It is also unclear to what extent these tests are involved, but they are considered comprehensive. Sources say there will be three elements: stunts, camera presence and dialogue.

Twenty years ago, tests for Bond included full hair and makeup and a full camera and sound crew on set. Henry Cavill was among those vying for the role, but Daniel Craig emerged victorious, playing the role in the 2006 film. Casino Royale until 2021 No time to die.

Dune Filmmaker Denis Villeneuve is directing the new Bond outing, with Amy Pascal and David Heyman producing and overseeing the franchise for Amazon MGM Studios, which purchased the creative rights from the Broccoli family in February 2025.
