Kate Middleton can’t wait for Prince George to return from Eton College for the school holidays after admitting she missed her eldest son.
The Princess of Wales made the confession on Thursday during a visit to a shopping center in Hoveton, England, for her role as patron of the Children’s Hospices of East Anglia (EACH), according to Hello!
“She said she couldn’t wait for George to come home, she missed him,” a shopper told the store, noting that Middleton, her husband Prince William, and their three children were “maybe going somewhere” during the school holidays.
When a young child in attendance told the royal that it was his last day of school before the mid-term break, Middleton reportedly responded: “My kids are going their separate ways tomorrow and I can’t wait to have them all home.”
As Page Six previously reported, William and Middleton dropped George off for his first day at Eton College on September 8.
In photos from the milestone day, the proud parents walked alongside the 13-year-old on their way to William’s alma mater in Berkshire, England.
Simon Henderson, headmaster of the school, and Sir Nicholas Coleridge, provost of Eton and chairman of the board of trustees, welcomed the royal family to the school.
William attended the boarding school from 1995 to 2000. His former brother, Prince Harry, also attended the prestigious school from 1998 to 2003.
As for William and Middleton’s youngest children, Princess Charlotte, 11, and Prince Louis, 8, they currently attend day school at Lambrook School in Berkshire, near Ascot.
On June 16, the couple confirmed to Page Six via a Kensington Palace spokesperson that George would attend Eton College, following in his father’s footsteps.
Following the announcement of his school choice, royal commentator Kinsey Schofield told Page Six that George’s “biggest challenge” will be managing to maintain his privacy among his classmates.
“The biggest challenge won’t be studying or making friends. It’ll be balancing Prince George’s private life with the fact that every classmate has TikTok,” she explained.
Schofield noted that William and Harry attended school “before social media transformed adolescence.”
She added: “George won’t have that luxury.”
“It’s about protecting your privacy in an age where something can go viral in seconds.”
