The FBI is set to launch its own investigation into Meghan Markle’s estranged father after a vile stash of child pornography was allegedly discovered at his home in the Philippines, according to a report.
Thomas Markle Sr., 82, was reported to local police by his own son, Thomas Markle Jr., who discovered “hundreds, if not thousands” of disturbing images of child sexual abuse in storage boxes in his Cebu home, The Sun first reported.
The son contacted FBI investigators in the United States, who plan to investigate Markle Sr., a Florida resident, and requested contact information for investigators in the Philippines, the outlet reported.
In July, Markle Jr., 60, said he reported the sickening discovery to the FBI hotline, the U.S. National Center for Exploited and Missing Children and the Pennsylvania State Police, where his father lived.
“An FBI agent has already requested the contact details of investigators handling the case in the Philippines,” a source close to the case in Cebu told the publication.
“There is strong precedent for cases in circumstances like this to be investigated by the FBI,” the source said.
The FBI did not respond to The Post’s request for comment on the reported investigation.
The Philippine government’s Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking has also reportedly created a task force to investigate the twisted case.
Cops are preparing to seize evidence found by Markle Jr. in four large boxes at the Cebu residence, the outlet reported.
The “horrified” son told the publication he called in a computer expert to help him access three computer hard drives in the weeks after calling authorities.
“His office was filled with rows and rows of thumbnail images relating to the most sickening child abuse imaginable. The worst of the worst,” Markle Jr. said.
Markle Sr., a retired lighting director, now lives in a nursing and rehabilitation center in Florida. He returned to the United States after suffering a blood clot in 2025, which led to the amputation of his left leg, according to the report.
He has been separated from his daughter, former actress Meghan Markle, since 2018 and has never met his son-in-law, Prince Harry.
Meghan was born during Markle Sr.’s marriage to his ex-wife, Doria Ragland.
The former General Hospital lighting director claimed he suffered a heart attack before the couple’s wedding at Windsor Castle in 2018.
Markle Sr. confirmed he was dating Filipina nurse Rio Canedo, 46, in March following his life-threatening health battle.
“Now maybe people will finally understand why she has had nothing to do with her father since 2018,” a source close to Meghan told the outlet.
