WASHINGTON — President Trump’s election advisers, Chris LaCivita and James Blair, have donated their six-figure consulting fees from controversial activity in Bosnia-Herzegovina to Trump’s presidential library, the Post has learned.
Trump became “gloating” and “very boastful” in private conversations this week after learning of the developments, a source said – indicating that his initial hard feelings toward LaCivita and Blair over their Eastern Europe concert had subsided.
Another source confirmed that Trump was delighted to learn of the donation.
The transfer was confirmed by four sources, two of whom said Trump heard indirectly and not from the men about their decision.
LaCivita, who co-led Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign, and Blair, who served as deputy White House chief of staff until May, will likely still have to pay taxes on the income, which sources said was more than $100,000 each.
Trump was furious earlier this month after The New York Times reported that the duo, who hold senior positions within the MAGA Inc super pac, had taken a trip to support a political party in the ethnically Serbian Republika Srpska, where they advised the victorious ruling party, led by Milorad Dodik, in the region’s elections.
Dodik is friendly toward Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
This side job made it seem like LaCivita and Blair were enriching themselves from their ties to Trump and taking their eyes off the beleaguered Republican congressional campaigns — even as some of their colleagues described them as remaining remotely engaged in U.S. election work.
“Chris LaCivita and James Blair are outside consultants. They don’t work for me other than as outside consultants. They most likely have many clients, but you’d have to ask them for that,” Trump fumed on Truth Social in his initial response on October 7.
“They are allowed to work for others, just like all consultants in Washington, D.C. I have no idea who else they work for but, on second thought, I will ask them and, if there is a conflict, I will fire them immediately!”
Blair, who orchestrated a Republican redistricting campaign this year aimed at redrawing House districts to favor the GOP, accompanied Trump to a campaign rally in South Carolina on Wednesday, signaling a thaw.
A White House official told The Post on Thursday that Trump did not appear angry with Blair or likely to blame him if the Republicans were eliminated on November 3, calling their conversations pragmatic and tactical.
