Real World and Challenge contestant Anika Rashaun dies at 34

Anika Rashaun, a “Real World Seattle: Bad Blood” housemate and former “The Challenge” contestant, has died. She was 34 years old.

Rashaun died earlier this month after being diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer, according to an Oct. 5 Substack article from a friend. The reality TV veteran’s former “Real World” cast member Theo King-Bradley also confirmed the news on social media.

“I did everything else to not think about the fact that you’re not here,” he wrote in a tribute on Instagram on Friday. “I’m really sad as hell ever since you heard about your passing. I’m sad that I didn’t get to see you one last time. But the last time and the last conversation we had together, I can cherish it and replay it in my mind to smile.”

He continued, “If only I could hear your voice call me ‘Teddy’ one last time, everything would be fine. You always kept it real with me and told me the bullshit I didn’t want to hear, that’s why I always respected you more. From our first concert together. Until you were with me on my first trip abroad. The time we spent at a resort in Thailand with Marie and Bruno. I could never forget you. But for now until the end, I have photos and videos to relive you, I love you, little mom.”

Rashaun’s first dip into reality television came on MTV’s “Real World” in 2016. She was introduced to audiences as an aspiring television host and graduate of Pace University in Harlem, New York. She then participated in season 29 of “The Challenge” titled “Invasion of the Champions” where she was eliminated in episode 3. The season was filmed in Thailand and premiered on cable in February 2017.

In addition to his time on television, Rashaun ran a dating app service and appeared on podcasts to discuss modern dating and dating.
