Noel Gallagher talks vegans, Macca and underwear at Chicken Shop Meet

“Do you know what a high-flying bird isn’t? A chicken.” Noel Gallagher is the latest guest on Amelia Dimoldenberg’s show. Chicken Store Date. In the new episode, the older Gallagher brother gives his thoughts on vegetarians (“Fuck those guys”), Macca (“He’s one of those rare people who, when you meet him, you come away feeling good about yourself”) and the long-standing rumor – started by him, mind you – that he doesn’t wear underwear on stage: “That’s absurd, I’m wearing two pairs of boxer shorts.”

Throughout the clip, Dimoldenberg peppers Gallagher with his typically scathing questions. When asked “how do you make a comeback feel natural and not desperate”, he replies: “You can’t be sure, you just have to hope that you can do whatever you’re trying to do as well as before. And in the case of Oasis, it became obvious after maybe a week of rehearsals that it was going to be as good, if not better, than it ever was.”

At another point, Gallagher addresses the inscrutable lyrics of “Champagne Supernova”: “I mean, I still have no idea what ‘walking slow down the hall/Faster than a cannonball’ means.” “Well, that means you walk pretty fast,” Dimoldenberg responds, to which Gallagher retorts, “I think that’s a reference to drugs.” The two also engage in some light-hearted football banter (Gallagher supports Man City, while Dimoldenberg is a United fan). After 12 years of activity, Chicken Store Date ends with its final season. Role Model and Jorja Smith have also made recent appearances on the show. Meanwhile, the second coming of Oasis will continue apace through 2027, with live dates in Europe, the UK and the US planned until September. Next month, the band will be honored at the 2026 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony.
