In July, the game note for the remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time was spotted on Nintendo’s official store page.
In case you missed it, it’s E10+. The title contains “animated blood” and “fantastic violence”. Now, in a small update, the rating summary has officially gone live on the Entertainment Software Rating Board.
In addition to reconfirming the rating, it provides a general overview of the game’s story and also details the gameplay, enemies, and battles Link will face throughout his adventure. Here is the full recap:
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time – Switch 2
“The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is rated E10+ for ages 10 and up by the ESRB along with Animated Blood and Fantasy Violence. It is an adventure game in which players take on the role of a hero on a quest to defeat evil and save a fantasy kingdom called Hyrule. From a third-person perspective, players explore Hyrule, interacting with characters, solving puzzles, and fighting fantastical enemies (e.g., bat-like enemies, spiders, chickens; guards). Players use swords, shields, arrows and magic spells to attack enemies. Fights are accompanied by impact sounds, colorful light effects and screams of pain. Some enemies may emit a green or purple blood effect when defeated. Some areas contain larger bosses that require a longer fight to defeat. »
As we noted previously, the 2011 3DS version of Ocarina of Time 3D received the same rating but also referenced “suggestive themes.” The ESRB rating summary at the time included the following description:
“Link encounters a few female characters depicted from low camera angles and wearing outfits displaying moderate cleavage.”
So here is the official summary of the rating for the Switch 2 remake of Ocarina of TIme. Aside from that, Nintendo also released new ads for the title this week, and the digital file size has apparently been reconfirmed. You can read more in our previous stories:
