The Indiana Fever is expected to keep head coach Stephanie White for the 2027 WNBA season despite the organization undergoing multiple front office changes, according to USA today Meghan L. Hall.
The Fever fired general manager Amber Cox on Friday, while team president Kelly Krauskopf also announced she would step down.
White coached Indiana and star Caitlin Clark the past two seasons.
She also served as Indiana’s head coach from 2015-16.
The Fever are 52-36 in White’s second stint with the organization, making the playoffs in each of the last two seasons. They qualified for the semi-finals in 2025 before suffering a first round elimination this year.
While Krauskopf announced that White had the “full support of leadership” on Aug. 11, his prospects of patrolling Indiana’s sidelines appeared uncertain after Friday’s front office shakeup.
It appears, however, that White will remain in his current role.
It should be noted that Clark congratulated his head coach after the Fever were eliminated by the Las Vegas Aces in the first round.
“I really like Steph,” Clark said, according to Grant Young of SI.com. “It’s, I like to say, the best job in women’s basketball, and maybe in women’s sports. To lead this franchise that has so much notoriety. But at the same time, it can have its negative aspects, and people are going to criticize everything you do, and that’s just the reality, and people expect greatness.”
“I thought our coaching staff spent a lot of time and energy trying to put us in a position to be successful,” she added. “Overall, I’m just really grateful to her and really grateful to all the coaches.”
Clark put together an excellent 2026 campaign under White, averaging a career-high 22.3 points per game. She also recorded 8.3 assists, 4.0 rebounds and 1.1 steals each night.
