Tsarukyan is no stranger to controversy and even post-match chaos, but things took it to another level when he was pitted against MMA’s most notorious troll, Danis. Their pre-show press conference ended in an all-out brawl, also attended by Tsarukyan’s close friend Khamzat Chimaev.

Danis cut a sullen figure on the scales before the fight as he cut what could have been nearly 30 pounds in order to compete at 175 pounds. Despite the fact that it was just a simple wrestling match, there was a real “fight feeling” in Las Vegas when the two men finally got their hands on each other.

After Dillon Danis made a star-worthy entrance, Arman Tsarukyan came out with a tribute to one of the legendary faces of Las Vegas, Elvis Presley. Somehow, despite going 0-2 in his previous outings, the New Yorker managed to compete for a title against his rival.
Within seconds, Danis had upset Tsarukyan and earned a slap from the UFC’s top lightweight. Shortly after, Tsarukyan had his back to his rival and scored to make it 3-0 after also pushing him out of bounds in the opening exchanges.
It only took Tsarukyan about 80 seconds to earn the Tech Fall victory, and his efforts to step over Danis and show his dominance almost caused a scene. Fortunately, security intervened and there was even a handshake between the two men afterwards.
When asked by Chael Sonnen in the post-match interview, Tsarukyan said the feud wouldn’t be over until both men fought in the cage.
