WWE legend Ric Flair was hospitalized after falling outside a Florida restaurant while suffering a blood clot in his leg.
The 77-year-old retired American professional wrestler, whose real name is Richard Morgan Fliehr, said in an Instagram post on Saturday that he spent the night in a Tampa hospital.
Flair fell outside a Wagamama restaurant in Tampa on Friday, cutting his head and eye, TMZ reported.
“Thank you everyone for the messages and prayers! I will respond to you individually as I get stronger,” Flair wrote in a post on Saturday. “Thank you to all the staff and doctors at Tampa General Hospital who put up with me until 4:30 a.m. I appreciate you all and thank you for everything you have done for me!”
The wrestling icon said he is on the mend.
“I’m focused on my healing and recovery right now,” he said, adding, “Everything will be fine!”
He shared a photo of himself smiling with an eye patch covering one of his eyes.

Just hours before his fall, Flair told fans he had to cancel his appearance at the Washington State Horror Con in Seattle due to a blood clot in his leg.
“Unfortunately, I have a blood clot in my leg and my doctors have limited my trip to 3-4 hours. Seattle is outside of that range and, as disappointed as I am, I need to prioritize my health and recovery,” he posted on Instagram Friday.
Flair warned that the blood clots are “extremely serious and potentially life-threatening” and that he has a procedure planned to “strip the affected vein.”
“I look forward to being healthy and seeing you all on the road. Thank you for your love and support,” he said Friday.
