Seattle Seahawks activate Anthony Bradford from injured reserve, waive ‘Hard Knocks’ star

Help is on the way for the Seattle Seahawks offensive line.

After right guard Anthony Bradford was designated to return Monday, the Seahawks activated him from injured reserve ahead of the team’s prime-time Week 7 clash against the Kansas City Chiefs. Wide receiver Montorie Foster Jr., one of the stars and feel-good stories of HBO’s “Hard Knocks,” has been waived in a corresponding move. Foster had been healthy since Week 2 and his only snaps in Week 1 were on special teams.

The fourth-year guard sat out shortly after Seattle’s Week 1 win over the New England Patriots, missing practice before the Week 2 win over the Cardinals due to knee and hip injuries. Ultimately, he was demoted and then placed on injured reserve – but head coach Mike Macdonald said at the time that his stint on IR would be on the “shorter side.”

Similarly, Bradford’s return to training this week included new optimism from Macdonald, who said: “Normally I’m pretty shy on this one, but it’s pretty simple. If he has a good week he’ll play a lot or the whole game.”

Sure enough, Bradford will now be back in the lineup against the undefeated Chiefs after practicing all week and having no injury designations. Regardless of Sunday’s opponent, his return will provide a much-needed boost to an offensive line that has struggled to protect Sam Darnold in 2026. In six games, Seattle has allowed 16 sacks while Darnold has faced a league-high 34.5% pressure rate.

Bradford, a fourth-round pick of the Seahawks in the 2023 NFL Draft, started all 17 games last season after making 21 starts in his first two years in Seattle.
