Anthropic files for listing on US stock market with valuation of over $1.5 billion | Anthropic

Anthropic has publicly filed to list on the US stock exchange under the symbol ANT.

Analysts and investors have already valued the San Francisco-based company, founded in 2021, at more than $1.5 billion, meaning its listing will be one of the largest in market history.

A leader in the race to create powerful artificial intelligence models and an indicator of America’s AI boom, Anthropic’s flagship product is the Claude chatbot, featuring text generation capabilities as well as advanced coding and cybersecurity capabilities. CEO Dario Amodei founded the company after leaving OpenAI, maker of ChatGPT.

Anthropic’s audited documents will offer the first public insight into its financial health, which has been the subject of intense speculation in recent months amid questions of a possible AI bubble swirl.

Anthropic was embroiled in a feud with the Trump administration over the use of the startup’s products for military purposes, which resulted in the company being designated as a supply chain risk, a first for a U.S. company. This prevents any military agency from contracting with Anthropic. The company contested the blacklisting.
