Zendaya Goes All Out for Her Nephew’s HS Football Game in Northern California

Hollywood icon and Oakland native Zendaya was spotted at Folsom High School Friday night, where she went to watch her nephew, EJ Coleman, perform on Senior Night. The 30-year-old also had quite a show from the Bulldogs, as the perennial Northern California powerhouse had a back-and-forth all the way with local rival Del Oro and escaped with a 42-41 victory.

According to numerous social media posts, Zendaya was sitting in the “Dog House” section of the school behind an end zone, reserved for family and friends Friday night at the Sacramento area high school. But the Hollywood star posed for photos with the Folsom cheerleading squad and other teens, and sang along as Oasis’ “Wonderwall” played in the stadium. The starlet wasn’t hard to spot, wearing a fluffy jacket and sunglasses for the night game.

Zendaya, whose full name is Zendaya Coleman, has five older half-siblings on her father’s side and has taken her nieces and nephews to Hollywood events. She has spoken openly about being close to her family in the past and her desire to be a role model for them.

Coleman posted that his “aunt” was coming to see him perform on several social media platforms. In his Instagram post from the evening, he showed off a photo he took with the Hollywood star wearing a custom shirt featuring Coleman in uniform as well as hand-decorated jeans to celebrate Coleman, with the “EJ” and Bulldogs logos on them.

Coleman is primarily a linebacker (although he occasionally plays offense) who is third on the team in tackles (42), tied for second in tackles for a loss (5.5) and scored a touchdown on a fumble return in a September win over Sacred Heart Cathedral at San Francisco’s Kezar Stadium. Considered a three-star prospect, he has committed to play college football at Washington State starting next fall.
