A large office complex in Waltham was evacuated Monday afternoon following a gas leak in the area, firefighters said.
Firefighters responded to 1601 Trapelo Road around 1:30 p.m. for reports of a gas main leak, Fire Lt. Mike Murphy said.
No injuries were reported, he said.
The sprawling Reservoir Place complex, which spans more than 520,000 square feet, was completely evacuated, Murphy said.
The address includes the Welch Foods headquarters as well as various software and insurance companies. In June, Boston Dynamics announced that the complex would become the site of an advanced robotics and AI center.
Seven fire companies are currently on scene, along with a medical unit to monitor conditions, Murphy said. The facility’s gas company was also informed of the incident, he said.
Christine Milligan, a spokesperson for National Grid, confirmed that a gas leak occurred at the site when a “third party” was digging in the area and struck the company’s gas line.
The leak interrupted service for two customers at the complex, Milligan said, and National Grid crews remain on site to make repairs.
Milligan said some employees were allowed to return to the complex in the afternoon.
BXP, which owns the resort, did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
