Emberville delays early access launch at the last minute

Cygnus Cross, the development team behind the promising “Diablo meets Stardew Valley” game Emberville, delayed its Early Access launch the day before. The new Early Access release date is January 7, 2027. To soften the blow, the team says that content originally planned for its first major post-launch update will now be included in the January 7 Early Access release.

“We know there is very short notice, with a launch only a day away,” Cygnus Cross wrote in a press release. “After extensive discussions within the team, we have made the difficult decision to postpone the Early Access release of Eberville. Many of you have played our Steam Next Fest demo and shared your feedback. This means a lot to us and we immediately began planning further improvements. However, some of the improvements we want to make are system changes that cannot be done quickly. Reworking the bow combat, for example, would take longer than before our Access release anticipated, even if the team works 24 hours a day.

“After carefully considering our options, we have decided to move the release date and include some key improvements in the Early Access launch version. We understand that this will be disappointing for those of you who were ready to purchase the game. Even if we could have simply released the game now, we feel that it would not live up to our standards and your high expectations of us.” The team concluded: “Once Early Access begins, we will follow up with regular updates, large and small. We will continue to add content, listen to your ideas and suggestions, and build Emberville with you. Thank you for your support, patience, and understanding.”

We really liked what we played in our most recent hands-on preview of Emberville, if you’d like to check it out. You can also want it on Steam if you’re interested.
