Jay-Z to perform at Super Bowl 2027 halftime show

Jay-Z is scheduled to perform at the Apple Music Super Bowl LXI Halftime Show, taking place on February 14, 2027 at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.

“From reasonable doubt to Super Bowl halftime, it’s been a journey,” Jay-Z said in a statement. “Thirty years of music, work and culture on the world’s biggest stage. This run continues to be a dream come true.”

The announcement follows an anniversary victory lap this year under the “Jay-Z 30” banner. He kicked off the celebrations as a headliner at Roots Picnic in late May, followed by three sold-out concerts at Yankee Stadium in July to honor the 25th and 30th anniversaries of his albums “The Blueprint” and “Reasonable Doubt,” respectively. In addition to international shows in Paris and London, Jay sat down with Rick Rubin for the eight-part documentary series “Jay-Z in 8,” where he analyzed hits and deep cuts from his catalog. Last weekend, he closed out his world tour series at SoFi Stadium with two nights featuring appearances by Scarface, DJ Khaled, John Legend, Blue Ivy Carter, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg and Too Short.

“For several years, we have had the privilege of working closely with Jay-Z and Roc Nation, and I have seen first-hand the extraordinary impact he has had on the Super Bowl halftime show,” NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said in a statement. “When we made a deal with Roc Nation to produce the show, I had only one request: that Jay-Z take the stage himself one day, whenever the time was convenient for him. I couldn’t be more excited for fans around the world to experience the artistry, creativity and cultural impact he will bring to the Super Bowl stage.”

“Jay-Z’s impact on global music culture is as profound as it is undeniable,” added Oliver Schusser, Apple’s vice president of global music and content. “We’ve had the privilege of working closely with him over the past few years to bring some of the world’s most exciting and prolific artists to the Super Bowl Halftime Show stage and we’re thrilled to have him take that stage himself this year. We know it will be an incredible show.”

The Super Bowl Halftime Show will air on ESPN, ABC and Disney+, as well as on mobile devices with NFL+. ESPN’s Spanish-language telecast will also be available on ESPN Deportes and Disney+, with a separate Spanish-language presentation on Univision. Roc Nation will produce the series, while Hamish Hamilton will direct.

Earlier this year, Bad Bunny held court as a performer on the Super Bowl Halftime Show, celebrating his Puerto Rican heritage in Latin American tradition. The elaborate set included a fake sugar cane field and a Puerto Rican vecindad complete with a hair salon, a liquor store and a casita where Bad Bunny hosted celebrity guests including Jessica Alba, Karol G, Cardi B, Young Miko and Pedro Pascal, among others. Bad Bunny also brought out surprise artists Lady Gaga and Ricky Martin for a salsa-tinged version of “Die With a Smile” and “lo que le pasó a Hawái,” respectively.

The Benito Bowl, as it was affectionately known by its fans, averaged 128.2 million viewers, above the 124.9 million average viewers achieved by the Super Bowl overall, but down from the 133.5 million viewers achieved by Kendrick Lamar in 2025. Before Lamar, Usher held the record for most viewers with his 2024 performance.

Last month, Bad Bunny won his first Emmy for his performance on the Super Bowl Halftime Show in the Outstanding Special (Live) category. The show scored a total of seven wins, including musical direction, choreography, sound mixing, lighting design, technical direction/camera work, and directing.

Speaking about the performance, creative director Harriet Cuddeford previously said Variety“The show celebrates normal people, and what it means to be human, and to love each other and have joy and really appreciate each other. It was to show how much he values his community, to celebrate normal people on the biggest stage in the world, especially people who are important in Latino culture. He’s a very genuine person, Benito, and it’s just about being authentic and very real and very human.”

In addition to the aforementioned artists, recent performers at the Super Bowl Halftime Show included Rihanna, the Weeknd and a collective performance from Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, Lamar, 50 Cent and Anderson .Paak.
