Collin Gosselin has responded to his estranged mother Kate Gosselin’s “heinous” allegations that he harmed animals.
“Let’s be absolutely clear: Collin has never used a weapon to harm a member of his family, and he has never harmed or killed an animal in his life,” Collin’s rep, Adriane Schwartz, told Page Six Tuesday in a statement.
“These allegations are categorically false…Publicly accusing your innocent child of such heinous acts to protect your reputation is beyond reprehensible,” she added.
“Collin has shown extraordinary courage in telling his story, and he will not be intimidated or silenced by these damaging accusations. »
Page Six reached out to Kate’s rep for comment, but did not immediately receive a response.
Following the publication of Collin’s explosive memoir, “In the Shadow of Eight: Surviving the Reality of My Childhood,” Kate, 51, repeatedly claimed that her 22-year-old son had “a history of violent behavior with weapons toward people, killing animals, his regular use of racial slurs and his ‘physical behavior.’
In response to a fan, the mother of eight doubled down on her allegations, saying Collin killed animals “for fun” and attacked his siblings “with a gun.”
When asked if she visited Collin while he was allegedly in treatment, she replied, “I came EVERY time the facility felt he was stable enough for a visit.” »
“Sometimes a visit was planned but the establishment canceled it because it was too unstable and it had to be rescheduled,” added the “Jon & Kate Plus 8” alum.
Kate claimed Collin was “choosing” what to make public about his upbringing.
“He only publishes extracts from his medical records, etc., which make me look bad, while covering up all of his horrible and dangerous behavior,” she claimed.
“It makes me feel like I was mistreating him when I was actually trying to keep him, his siblings, myself and our pets SAFE,” Kate added.
Kate shares twins Cara and Madelyn, 26, and sextuplets Collin, Joel, Leah, Alexis, Hannah, Aaden, 22, with ex-husband Jon Gosselin.
Collin criticized his mother, Kate, in his new book, claiming she verbally and physically abused him and his siblings, locked him in a basement and used $100,000 of the Gosselin children’s money to furnish his home.
Kate has denied the allegations.
