Hasbro has named Dan Ayoub the next president of Wizards of the Coast (WotC) and Hasbro Digital Games.

Announced in a Hasbro press release earlier today, Ayoub was reportedly selected from a significant pool of “…internal and external candidates…” after an extensive three-month search, and is the “…first internal candidate” to be promoted to the role of president.
A seasoned industry veteran, Ayoub’s background includes 25 years of experience creating video games, including over a decade at Microsoft and Halo studio 343 Industries. Ayoub joined WotC in 2022, initially as Senior Vice President of Digital Games, but most recently served as Senior Vice President of Dungeons & Dragons.
According to Hasbro CEO Chris Cocks, who has served as WotC’s interim president since John Hight left the position in September, Ayoub “…has the passion and leadership to take Wizards of the Coast and Hasbro Digital Games into their next chapter…” and is “…excited for the future with him at the helm.” »
As president of WotC, Ayoub will oversee the Magic: The Gathering, Dungeons & Dragons and Duel Masters brands, as well as Hasbro’s digital games segment.
“I’m honored to lead Wizards of the Coast and Hasbro Digital Games, and grateful to Chris and the leadership team for this opportunity. Magic and D&D have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, and the teams behind them are among the best in the world. We will put fans first, respect the artists and creators who bring these worlds to life, and set an ambitious course for tabletop and digital growth. I can’t wait to get started.”
