Kim Kardashian went under the knife after being diagnosed with esophagitis.
In Thursday’s preview of next week’s episode of “The Kardashians,” the reality star revealed that she underwent surgery to “remove…irregularities” in her esophagus.
The Skims creator, 46, received her diagnosis earlier in the episode.
“I’ve been feeling a little down lately,” Kardashian said in a confessional. “My throat is killing me today.”
Her doctor said she “had a little bit of inflammation in her esophagus,” adding, “I would suggest starting a course of medication and then coming in for a procedure where we can look at her and figure out what we’re dealing with and whether we really need to do anything or not.”
Kardashian noted that she hasn’t “told too many people” about it because her late father, Robert Kardashian Sr., died of esophageal cancer in 2003 at age 59.
Esophagitis, in particular, is linked to the disease because gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), the most common cause of esophagitis, can lead to esophageal cancer, according to MayoClinic.
“(The diagnosis is) something that really hits home for me,” Kardashian told viewers. “I just don’t really want to go when my dad died of esophageal cancer.
“I hope I can just take some medication and it will go away,” the “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” alum continued. “But I just don’t know what’s going to happen.”
Kardashian’s diagnosis first made headlines when the trailer for Season 8 of the family show was released in September.
The businesswoman told someone off-camera that she had “something called esophagitis,” and the individual asked, “Isn’t your father…isn’t that what he died of?”
Kardashian confirmed: “Yeah.”
The clip from last month then shows her mother, Kris Jenner, saying, “I can’t. …It makes me want to cry.”
The “All’s Fair” actress documented another health scare on the previous season of “The Kardashians,” with doctors discovering a “small” brain aneurysm during an MRI caused by “stress.”
Kardashian shared her hopeful mindset at the time, insisting that “everything works out.”
