McDonald’s Brings Back The Iconic Meal Fans Have Waited For 8 Long Years

McDonald’s may now be known for its Big Macs, McRibs and Snack Wraps, but for me, the fast food giant will always evoke a love of one product in particular: Happy Meals. Growing up, I begged my parents to take me to the drive-thru to buy McNuggets, fries, and most importantly, collectible toys. I have fond memories of Barbie-themed boxes, mini Beanie Boos and, my favorite: Pokémon cards and figurines.

Now, after nearly a decade of Pokémon-free dining, McDonald’s is once again teaming up with the beloved brand to offer a limited-edition Happy Meal. And the fans are already going crazy.

McDonald’s launches a new Pokémon Happy Meal

Just in time for its 30th anniversary, Pokémon is teaming up with the Golden Arches to offer a McDonald’s Happy Meal inspired by the iconic franchise. Each meal, which will be sold in one of three unique boxes designed after Pokémon characters, will come with one of 15 Pokémon-themed collectible toys, including Fuecoco, Sprigatito, Quaxly, Eevee, Umbreon and Bulbasaur, as well as two collectible cards.

As for food, the Pokémon Happy Meal will offer all the standard dishes: your choice of McNuggets or a hamburger with apple slices, fries and a drink.

The limited edition Pokémon Happy Meal will be released on November 10 in the United States, as well as Australia, Canada, Fiji, France, New Zealand and Spain. The offering will expand to more countries in Europe, Asia and Africa in December 2026 before arriving in South America and even more European countries in early 2027.

According to the fansite PokéBeachthe limited edition collection will only be available until December 14 in America; However, neither McDonald’s nor The Pokémon Company have officially confirmed when the promotion will end.

While it’s not yet clear how long the Pokémon Happy Meal will be available in the United States, one thing is for sure: it probably won’t be around for long, and fans are already eager to purchase one (or all) of them for themselves. Although Pikachu was a classic McD’s nostalgic offering throughout my childhood, Pokémon toys haven’t been featured in Happy Meals since 2018, and based on the flood of comments on social media, collectors are probably eager to get their hands on these exclusive cards.

“Thank you so much,” one fan said during McDonald’s Instagram announcement. “LET’S GOOO,” exclaimed another, while one person simply said: “I need this so bad.”

Whether you’re a die-hard Pokémon enthusiast, a casual collector, or just love an exclusive Happy Meal, you’ll want to head to McDonald’s ASAP on November 10 if you want catch them all.
