A day after winning their first World Series in franchise history, the Milwaukee Brewers celebrated at Lambeau Field.
Several members of the Brewers made an appearance at Lambeau for the Green Bay Packers’ game against the Carolina Panthers on Thursday. Their celebrations included a few Lambeau Leaps.
The Brewers had a magical season, finishing with a franchise record 103 wins before advancing to the postseason. They beat the San Diego Padres in five games, swept the Los Angeles Dodgers and beat the Tampa Bay Rays in five World Series games.
William Contreras won the World Series MVP after hitting .381 with an .864 OPS and four RBI.
The Brewers, founded in 1969, reached the World Series in 1982, where they lost to the St. Louis Cardinals, and did not return to the Fall Classic until this year. With one title under their belt, Milwaukee is poised for success for years to come and will look to add a few more in the years to come.
The question is whether the Packers can bring Milwaukee sports fans as much joy as the Brewers this year. Green Bay got off to a shaky 4-3 start to the season, losing manageable games to the Minnesota Vikings, Atlanta Falcons and Detroit Lions.
Despite a rough start, the Packers have the talent to make a deep playoff run and perhaps join the Brewers as champions.
