Earlier this week, Riyadh Season revealed that the WWE Crown Jewel 2026 event would be moved to a new venue, with ticket holders receiving a full refund. Journalist Dave Meltzer has since reported that the premium live event on November 7 will remain in the city of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and simply move to the nearby Kingdom Arena.
On “Wrestling Observer Radio,” Meltzer gave other reasons as to why. “They were building a stadium, the Riyadh Season Stadium. It was open air and the WWE show was going to be there. They announced a move. I don’t even know if it was officially announced, but they are moving to the Kingdom Arena, which is the same building where the Canelo Alvarez fight will take place on Saturday. Some people, when it was first announced, thought that something big was coming, but essentially the statement is “It’s safer to hold the show indoors than outdoors, which makes perfect sense in the context of the world,” Meltzer said. “So they’re going to move the show indoors.”
The location of Crown Jewel has been heavily questioned in recent months due to ongoing conflicts in the Middle East. Originally, the PLE was to take place inside the Riyadh Season Stadium, a temporary outdoor venue. The Kingdom Arena, for its part, is an indoor venue with a capacity of 30,000 seats.
WWE has hosted several Kingdom Arena shows in the past, including the 2025 and 2026 PLE Night of Champions. The upcoming Crown Jewel show has four confirmed matches so far, three of which revolve around the championships.
