If you’ve been following Kirby Air Riders lately, you may have been excited to dive into the game’s new Halloween event this weekend and pick up some spooky Ghost headwear while you’re at it. Well, we’re sorry, but that’s not going to happen, because Nintendo has canceled the event.
The event was originally scheduled to run from October 28 to November 4, but many players reported nasty technical difficulties while playing early matches, where the screen regularly froze – which, in a game as frenetic as Air Riders, isn’t going to cut it.
You can see the problem for yourself below (shared on Bluesky by TAHK0):
This time, Nintendo didn’t have a miracle solution up its sleeve and therefore decided to cancel the event. “We have confirmed an issue in the ongoing ‘Trick or Treat!’ event. where the screen temporarily freezes during gameplay,” read a message from the Japanese social media account Nintendo Support this morning (via machine translation). “For this reason, we will be canceling this event.”
While Nintendo apologized for the cancellation, it claimed that there were plans to hold the event again in the future, so that everyone could benefit from the themed reward. There is no official news on When he will return for now, but we have to imagine that it will be sooner rather than later.
