iOS 27.2 adds new Find My feature at just the right time

iOS 27.2 is here, and aside from new features for Apple Photos, Messages, and Siri AI, the update also has a welcome addition for Find My: support for Apple TV 4K remotes.

Siri Remote for Apple TV 4K now included in Find My app with iOS 27.2

Find My has long been the iPhone’s go-to platform for locating people as well as your Apple devices.

Except that until now, an Apple device was not included in the application.

The Siri Remote for Apple TV 4K has always been missing from Find My. There was another way to locate it using the Remote app through Control Center, but most users probably didn’t realize this feature existed.

But with iOS 27.2, Apple TV remotes have now been added to the Find My app for location tracking. Open Find My in iOS 27.2 and go to the Devices tab. Compatible Siri Remotes (2nd generation and later) will now appear there.

It’s good that Apple has finally addressed this oversight, but the timing is no coincidence. Indeed, the new Siri remote control (4th generation) will make it easier to find a lost remote control.

The new remote control features Support for precision search and a built-in speaker. So the next time it’s lost somewhere in your house, your iPhone can direct you step by step to its location and trigger a sound to help you.

The new Siri Remote is included with the 4th generation Apple TV 4K. But you can also buy it separately for $59 and get the same new features.

The upgraded remote is compatible with all Apple TV 4K and Apple TV HD models. However, to benefit from Precision Finding, you will need an iPhone 17 or newer.

Did you know that the Remote app offers assistance in finding a lost remote? Will you use the new Find My feature? Let us know in the comments.
